Imagine a world so tiny, it could fit in the palm of your hands. Imagine the people and objects within that world, completely miniature. Imagine your clothes being size XXS without having to diet. Imagine narrow, thin, and lightweighteverything; suddenly it’s your thought process that begins to expand, and your ideas countless.
This world actually already exists, and it came to life between the fingers of a woman named Althea Crome, the creator of Bugknits. Residing in Indiana, Althea is the only person in the world who knits conceptual sweaters and garments on such a small scale. How small? Well let’s put it this way: some of her needles are almost the dimension of a human hair, and her creations (above) can be aligned on a single finger.
Her talent is one of the most beautiful I’ve come across. It’s a form of art that often goes overlooked, knitting. But Althea has created for it, a completely new dimension, and she’s done an exception job of putting it into focus; a fine focus. It’s so hard not to fall in love with her meticulous work, the creativity behind it, the patience it takes for it to come alive, and the challenges that fuel her to create everything little.
May your inspiration continue to blossom, and may you continue creating these mini masterpieces in good health, as it truly is, “a small world after all.”
